We are Ann Miller and Laurence Lattimore. Here we are at the BACA awards night when Saffron
Walden picked up the award for Best Antiques Town 2002, with Eric Knowles - BACA Chairman and
Master of Ceremonies.
We have both been dealing for many years and saw the shop as a must do progression from
the fairs and Antiques Centres we had been concentrating on before.
We opened the shop on the 25th May 2002 and customer response has been fantastic.
In January 2005 we succeeded in becoming a finalist in the Period Living
& Traditional Homes magazine 'Best of British Awards'. Voted for by the readers of the
magazine, Arts Decoratifs were a runner up in the Best Antique Shop category.
We both believe that you can have the 'look' of a given period without having to go broke in
the process. To this end we concentrate on quality items that are of a design genre - such as Arts
and Crafts - without always carrying one of the big ticket brand names.
We also carry a large selection of wonderfully ecelctic items that make unique and
unusual gifts for others and of course, oneself. Everything in the shop is chosen by us
with you, the customer in mind.
We hope you enjoy our taste.
